ALJEFF works closely with Voluntary, Community and Statutory Agencies, including Homeless Services, Probation Services, Suicide Intervention / Prevention Units. Continued networking enables more coherent responses to the issues of problem substance use in the community, prison and amongst the homeless population.
ALJEFF provides services to families of prisoners, Child Protection Agency, Trauma Unit Regional Hospital together with other services in the community. Through this positive networking we developed partnerships with other organisation which enabled us to provide our outreach services in the community.
This programme will be delivered as a ‘gateway’ project aiming to engage individuals in education, recreational support and opportunities. The objective of this programme will be to help individuals identify alternatives to substance use / misuse. Engaging in this programme, clients will have the opportunity to avail of rehabilitation / treatment programmes as appropriate.
Outreach workers provide Drop-In clinics in the heart of the community such as, Moyross, Southill, Ballinacurra Weston and St. Mary’s Park.
From these clinics individuals interested in availing of treatment / rehabilitation programmes are linked in with the clinical team for assessment and admission to the appropriate programme. In addition to provision of service to substance abuse individuals a support service is offered to families.
